Experience Matters!
equine Anatomy and Biomechanics
The body is a fascinating thing, and there is so much to learn! My teaching is deeply anchored in the studies of healthy biomechanics, so our horses can stay strong and healthy for many years.
Incorporating body work is a staple part of my training. Whether it is for rehabilitation or to simply keep our for legged friends feeling their best
I have attended and hosted several whole horse dissections, to gain a deeper understanding as well as giving other people the opportunity to learn
I have over ten years of trimming and shoeing experience and can advise you how to optimise your horses hoof care
From young horse training to high school
Having brought on several horses right from foals through to high school movements, I know how important it is to lay a foundation that you can rely on in the higher training.
My clients come from all disciplines! While classical dressage is my passion, biomechanics and psychology are the same for all equines.
Equine Behaviour and psychology
Horses have very specific needs to feel safe. A horse that feels safe, is a reliable horse. We have to learn to work with the horse, not against the horse. Instead of dismissing or shutting down the horses emotional responses, I will acknowledge them, and find a way so the horse can learn to self regulate.
Rider biomechanics
Developing your seat takes years! I love fine tuning my students position so the communication between horse and rider are fluid and clear. I love using the Franklin balls and rolls to reset the riders sensory awareness and release restrictions. Every body is different, and finding each riders functional position is important. In my lessons, you won’t hear standard commands such as heels down, instead, you will learn to feel the precise moment when to touch your horse or how to invite your horse into an open space through your seat
~ words that soak into your ears are whispered, not shouted ~
